The Homeschool Class welcomes all homeschooled students ages 5 and up. During the Homeschool Class, our students will be taught the appropriate curriculum level for their age. For families that appreciate an excellent curriculum, our Homeschool Class allows students to continue, year after year, receiving a top-tier art education.
All students who are 5 and 6 years old will be taught the Introduction to Art curriculum. Introduction to Art: Two Year Program — where young creators take their first steps into a world of art, and self expression. Over two full years, your child will grow as an artist through a carefully guided program that introduces foundational art skills, tools, and vocabulary, and invites exploration across a variety of art media. They’ll gain confidence through experimentation and creative decision making. Every step is designed to encourage bold choices and allow your child to learn from these processes. By the end of their second year in Introduction to Art, they’ll have the confidence to take on next level skills and knowledge in the 2 year Beginning Art curriculum.
Students who are 7 and 8 years old will be taught the Beginning Art curriculum. Beginning Art is the perfect next step to help them continue growing as young artists. This dynamic two-year program is designed to build your child’s confidence with a wide range of art tools while deepening their understanding of more advanced artistic skills and vocabulary. Through hands-on projects and creative exploration, your child will express themselves in new ways and develop a stronger grasp of key artistic concepts. They’ll work with a variety of materials and techniques in a supportive, inspiring environment that nurtures creativity, encourages discovery, and helps them thrive as a growing artist. By the end of their second year in Beginning Art, they’ll have a solid creative foundation and the confidence to take on the exciting challenges of our four-year comprehensive art curriculum. Both Introduction to Art and Beginning Art are built on the belief that every child is an artist in progress: we nurture curiosity, celebrate risk taking, and guide students as they discover and develop new skills.
All students who are age 9 years old and up will be taught the Art 1 curriculum. Art 1 is the foundation class of a four- year curriculum, where your Art 1 student will embark on an exciting journey through monochromatic work that deepens their understanding of line, value, and texture. Projects will include ebony pencil portraits, charcoal still life, India ink design, and scratchboard art. Several weeks into the next session, students will study color theory in-depth.
They will utilize this knowledge to succeed in color design projects that will ensue.
Over the course of our 4-year curriculum, your child will develop strong technical skills, explore a big variety of media, gain confidence and build a professional-quality portfolio that opens doors to art scholarships, college programs, and even careers in the creative field.
✨ If you want your child to pursue art with purpose and passion, we’re here to help them take that first step — and every one after.
